Synopsis from the Author

When seventeen-year-old Rune Kristiansen returns from his native Norway to the sleepy town of Blossom Grove, Georgia, where he befriended Poppy Litchfield as a child, he has just one thing on his mind. Why did the girl who was one half of his soul, who promised to wait faithfully for his return, cut him off without a word of explanation? Rune's heart was broken two years ago when Poppy fell silent. When he discovers the truth, he finds that the greatest heartache is yet to come. A stand-alone young adult tearjerker romance, recommended for ages fourteen and up.

One kiss lasts a moment. But a thousand kisses can last a lifetime. One boy. One girl. A bond that is forged in an instant and cherished for a decade. A bond that neither time nor distance can break. A bond that will last forever. Or so they believe.

Things I Loved & Things I Struggled With

  • I cried 13 pages into the book! It is a very sad story, but I loved every second of it. I couldn't put my kindle down.

  • I love how inseparable they were, and although his broody cold self, he still has a soft spot for Poppy.

  • Their love and adventure stemmed from their childhood, which gave the story a bit more deeper sentiment.

  • Runes character development shows through and through because of his love.

  • I live up for the story's development from Rune loathing his father to opening his heart for his family.

  • It did get me thinking why would someone just ghost the love of their life. Poppy could have just broken up with him, then he'll at least know they're not together anymore and that he would not long for more. Or wallow every moment and loathe his dad.

  • Although I wanted to see Rune also collect kisses, I think it just goes to say that he really did keep his promises to Poppy, his lips only for her.
