Synopsis from the Author
A fortune teller once told Mila she’d find a man who would take her breath away. She refrained from telling her it would be literally while Mila ran for her life.
Having always done what is expected of her, Mila dresses the part, only dates college boys with exemplary backgrounds, and doesn’t ask questions. Not about her papa’s absences or his refusal to let her set foot in her birthplace—Russia.
Suffocated by the rules and unanswered questions, Mila does what she’s always wanted to. She boards a plane to Moscow.
She never expected to fall for a man on the way. One with unexplained wealth, tattoos on his hands, and secrets in his eyes. But it doesn’t take long for his caress to become a rough grasp muffling her screams.
Revenge is a dish best served cold. Unfortunately, a Russian winter is the coldest of them all, and Mila soon learns the only way to escape intact is to do the impossible and thaw her captor’s heart.

Things I Loved & Things I Struggled With
Ronan has all those characteristics an anti-hero has. Just like both of the previous male leads (Nico and Christian), he’s also unhinged, brutal, crazy, brutal, and possessive. But on the bright side, they give way for the women they love. Ronan, Christian alike, they were brought up by an abusive and dark home. All they’ve ever known was violence—so much as to he doesn’t even understand how he actually feels for Mila. This was a sweet and cute addition because his brother, Christian explained how ‘love’ could fuck up their minds. When Ronan came to his senses haha and terms to his feelings for Mila, I was so kilig and swoon. It was entertaining because he didn’t know what to do.
I loved the guards and the maids (especially Yulia and Albert). They added a bit of fun in the story. And I felt like they were also crucial for how Ronan came to terms with his feelings in a way (even though they didn’t straightforwardly say “aren’t you worried about her” or “I thought you like her,” they knew Ronan had a place in his heart for Mila when he sent her to the kennel with Khaos.
Ronan mad me fall for him and then broke my heart. He was so sweet to Mila. I didn’t think anything would go wrong. But good thing he made my heart flutter again. One thing I wanted to see is that for Mila to let Ronan work to get her back (and not just jumping to hug him).
I sometimes felt uncomfortable with some of the things Ronan did to Mila. I had to remind myself that I was reading a mafia romance, and that this needed to have crazy and unhinge characters, which will exactly give you that.
I feel so sad for Mila, and want to give her a hug. She literally is so naive and got caught up into something that didn’t even involve her. Overall, I really loved Mila’s humor. She was funny.
Mila and Ronan’s relationship is entertaining. They helped each other with their character development. They were for each other—no matter how I didn’t like some of the “unhinged”ness. Though, I would have loved to read an epilogue. This girl right her is such a sucker for epilogues.
The only thing that I struggled to understand and somewhat bothered me is that how Mila come to realize she loved him, when all he did to her was mistreat her. Maybe that's probably why I felt like Ronan could have worked to get her back.
Overall, I loved this read. I recommend it to those who love mafia romance, and those who do not mind a bit of dub con.
