Synopsis from the Author

Juliette Ferrars thought she'd won. She took over Sector 45, was named the new Supreme Commander, and now has Warner by her side. But she's still the girl with the ability to kill with a single touch—and now she's got the whole world in the palm of her hand. When tragedy hits, who will she become? Will she be able to control the power she wields and use it for good?

(Sixteen days after assuming leadership, Juliette grapples with leadership challenges as Supreme Commander, facing political intrigue and unraveling secrets about her past. Tensions rise with the arrival of Eurasian Supreme Commander's son, Haider Ibrahim. Warner's troubled history surfaces, and a tragic incident at the symposium leads to the revelation of Juliette's devastating powers and the truth about her parentage, leaving her in shock and despair.)

Things I Loved & Things I Struggled With

  • Alright, so I just finished diving into this book, and let me tell you, it's one wild ride. First things first, we've got Juliette and Warner – and between you and me, Warner seems like the better fit, but there's this cloud of uncertainty hanging over him. I mean, how can he not put two and two together about Juliette's past? I've got a good memory, and it just doesn't add up.

  • The building moment even from the previous books of the series, I wouldn't say it was worth it for the unfolding moments in this book, but was an intriguing twists and tell. I was thoroughly captivated by the intricacies and well-crafted narrative of this story. The invitation and wording concerns set the stage for a politically charged plot, filled with hidden agendas and tensions among the different landmasses. The revelation of Warner's past added a layer of depth to his character, creating empathy for his internal struggles and foreshadowing potential conflicts.

  • Then there's Nazeera – this strong, independent character that I can't help but love. But, and there's always a but, she's got this air of mystery around her. Everyone's playing this weird game, giving Juliette just enough to get her curious but not spilling the whole truth. It's like they're all in on this secret, and Juliette's left in the dark.

  • Speaking of secrets, the withholding of information is driving me crazy. I get that it's keeping the story juicy, but come on, Juliette deserves to know. It's what makes this whole thing so darn entertaining, though – the anticipation of uncovering what everyone's hiding. And let me tell you, they're doing a stellar job at keeping me hooked.

  • But here's the thing, can we really trust anyone? Warner, Nazeera, Castle – I'm side-eyeing them all. The author's playing with this theme of secrets and trust, and it's working. I'm dying to know Juliette's true identity and what these characters are holding back. The mystery's got me on the edge of my seat, and I'm ready for the next book to spill all the beans. This one's a rollercoaster of emotions, and I'm here for it.

  • Overall, the writing gets me hooked, but I'm feeling a bit over with the series already.... it's good but there's always a problem or a twist at the end. I just want to finish the series fast and want a happy ending already!
