Synopsis from the Author

Juliette Ferrars.

Ella Sommers.

Which is the truth and which is the lie?

Now that Ella knows who Juliette is and what she was created for, things have only become more complicated. As she struggles to understand the past that haunts her and looks to a future more uncertain than ever, the lines between right and wrong—between Ella and Juliette—blur. And with old enemies looming, her destiny may not be her own to control.

The day of reckoning for the Reestablishment is coming. But she may not get to choose what side she fights on.

Things I Loved & Things I Struggled With

  • I really just want to finish this series fast already (but still read all).... it's boring me... and I just want a happy ending of some sort. The story was a rollercoaster of emotions and surprises... It's just 350 pages but felt so long to read... I haven't even been motivated to write the reviews of the last books of this series...

  • The story had multiple layers, but there were moments when the transitions between different characters and their arcs felt a bit disjointed. Some scenes left me questioning how certain events connected, requiring extra effort to piece things together, but it was difficult to continue to read (even so I still finished reading it). While it had its moments of confusion and complexity, the engaging plot and well-developed characters make it a worthwhile read for those who enjoy a mix of dystopian themes and intricate relationships.

  • I loved that it had a happy ending, so I'm giving it a 3...
