Synopsis from the Author
Stoic, broody, and arrogant, elite bodyguard Rhys Larsen has two rules: 1) Protect his clients at all costs 2) Do not become emotionally involved. Ever. He has never once been tempted to break those rules…until her. A princess with a stubborn streak that matches his own and a hidden fire that reduces his rules to ash. She’s nothing he expected and everything he never knew he needed. Day by day, inch by inch, she breaks down his defenses until he’s faced with a truth he can no longer deny: he swore an oath to protect her, but all he wants is to ruin her. Take her. Because she’s his: His princess. His forbidden fruit. His every depraved fantasy.
Regal, strong-willed, and bound by the chains of duty, Princess Bridget von Ascheberg dreams of the freedom to live and love as she chooses. But when her brother abdicates, she’s suddenly faced with the prospect of a loveless, politically expedient marriage and a throne she never wanted. And as she navigates the intricacies—and treacheries—of her new role, she must also hide her desire for a man she can’t have: Her bodyguard. Her protector. Her ultimate ruin.
Unexpected and forbidden, theirs is a love that could destroy a kingdom…and doom them both.

Things I Loved & Things I Struggled With
I loved how Bridget is a strong female character and can stand for herself.
While Rhys is a little possessive and protective of her (as he's her bodyguard), he mostly only has the soft spot for Bridget and is always supportive of her decisions.
Rhys is the only male lead (out of the four in the series) who didn't—and WOULD NEVER—betray or let her feel small!
We can see her mature throughout the book as the author gave us the time to grow with her, from college to adulting and making important decisions.
I enjoyed how Rhys tried to deny and battle his growing feelings for Bridget. His efforts to please her and protect her are always noticed🧸🏕️
The story and character development definitely improved from the last book (Twisted Love)
I prefer this second book out of all four books in the Twisted series, although the time jumps kind of set me off to the point I actually don't know how much time passed already. It was difficult to follow along.
I love how there's no silly miscommunication. And their problem was adequate enough they needed to navigate through on how they could actually be together.
I get to see snippets of Christian Harper👀 (from Twisted Lies).
I was swoon. Give me a Rhys and I'll be a happy girly!
